Sweet baby girl
Jon was so sweet with her. It was neat to see him look at her so loveingly. She was a big girl. She weighed 8 lbs 11 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. She arrived 3 weeks early on the 21st of August. I was a borderline gestational diabetic and my doctor said not to worry. That was until my stomach measured 42 cm at 36 weeks gestation. She had a growth spurt the week before and measured 38 at 35 weeks. My doctor did another ultrasound to see how big she was. They thought she was about 9 lbs. This was 4 weeks before my due date. My date was right on, she just had a few growth spurts. It must have been the neopolitan ice cream I ate so frequently. This is weird but, I also craved tejano music! I loved to listen to the spanish radio station. I want her to learn another language so why not start early. Jon talks to her in portuguese. It's fun to see the look on her face when he talks to her. While Kylie was in the hospital, she was in the NICU for several things. It was so hard to see her in there with all of the tubes and IV's on her. She had fluid in her lungs and was breathing funny so she had a breathing tube. The fluid in her lungs was from me having a c-section. In natural birth, the fluid gets pushed out of the lungs. They thought she caught the strep B virus, which I had so she had an IV in her. My doctor thought it was best to have the c-section and not try natural because she was big. They didn't know how big. They thought at least 9 lbs. My doctor said it would be easier on me and Kylie to have a c-section. I don't know if any of you have had a c-section but it is not a walk in the park. I felt like I was split in two. It sucked to say the least. I had terrible pain for about 2 weeks. I couldn't laugh because it hurt so bad. I had to get up carefully and walk carefully. Being the active person I am, this was very hard. I was so lucky to have my mom with me for the first week. Kylie didn't come home until she was 4 days old. She has such a sweet spirit. We are truly blessed to have her in our lives.
